McGill Nourish

McGill Nourish is a student-led non-profit club based in Montreal, on unceded Kanien’kehà:ka territory. Our mission is to engage students around sustainability and social activism, as to empower communities to take action on social inequality and environmental challenges. With that mission in mind, our Club operates in three main directions of impact investing, social impact and engagement that will be outlined below. Our operations are structured into three main branches. The Social Impact branch supports local NGOs by offering technical capacity, including assistance in grant writing, organizational development, and volunteer mobilization. The Engagement branch fosters connections by organizing sustainability-focused events for both McGill students and the broader Montreal community, such as our Valentine’s flower sale, thrift event, and 5K run. Finally, the Impact Investing branch equips students with hands-on experience in ESG finance, evaluating green companies, and partnering with organizations like Clear Skies to address pressing social and environmental challenges. A fourth branch, Marketing, provides essential support for communications across all initiatives on our social media. Beyond operations, Nourish is a vibrant community of like-minded students who share common values but bring diverse backgrounds and interests. Together, we learn from one another while collaborating on projects that extend beyond the classroom. Alumni connections also play a key role, allowing current members to access mentorship, career guidance, and a lasting professional network. For students, the benefits of joining Nourish are multifaceted. They gain technical expertise, ranging from financial and ESG analysis to NGO capacity-building, while also developing transferable skills in leadership, communication, and event management. They strengthen their sense of community belonging, expand their external networks, and build the readiness needed for impactful careers. Most importantly, Nourish empowers students to apply their talents toward building a more just and sustainable world. We believe that McGill Nourish represents the best of what student-led initiatives can achieve: a platform that blends learning, leadership, and community action to drive real change. We look forward to continuing to grow this vision with the support of McGill.

This involves working hand-in-hand with human lives that shape natural environments to create a thriving community for all plants and animals within these ecosystems. Canada has a unique set of environmental issues in the face of the unprecedented climate crisis; including arctic warming, marine and freshwater pollution, and threats to biodiversity. Our club has the opportunity to mobilize students to engage with our local urban ecology that serves our downtown campus. With this, McGill Students for Wildlife Conservation has a mandate to protect and conserve habitats and populations of the world’s vulnerable species, placing an emphasis on rectifying threats to our local environment.
