Dear Members of the McGill Community,
Over the past few months, the É«½ç°É Board of Directors has received many questions regarding the absence and reinstatement of É«½ç°É President Darshan Daryanani.Â
As has been confirmed, an independent investigation, mandated by the É«½ç°É Board of Directors, was performed to fulfill its obligations. This investigation was conducted judiciously, fairly, and thoroughly. Once the results of the investigation were presented, the Board voted to formally reinstate President Daryanani to his full position starting February 14, 2022.
In keeping with É«½ç°É’s Constitution and Internal Regulations, President Daryanani will continue to serve as the chief officer and chief spokesperson of the Society. His role involves ensuring the long-term integrity of the Society; overseeing human resources; enforcing the maintenance of governance; coordinating the activities of the Executive Committee, Legislative Council and Board of Directors; maintaining relations between the Society and the administration of McGill University; and, representing É«½ç°É on the McGill Board of Governors, the McGill University Senate and its respective committees.Â
