We鈥檙e looking for someone to do 10-15 hours of data entry into a WordPress website by January 1st . Though the work is a bit tedious, you will be stipended for your time! Knowledge of WordPress a plus.

The Caretaker

Welcome inside the Nobel Prize winning playwright鈥檚 bizarre, junk-filled world in this 鈥渃omedy of menace.鈥 The Caretaker is a tragicomedy that follows three men (played by women) over a span of three weeks. The comedy creeps in as Aston takes in the homeless Davies in an act of kindness. A wacky cat-and-mouse game ensues when Davies is caught between Aston鈥檚 nonchalant charity and Mick鈥檚 psychopathic tendencies. In The Caretaker, Pinter asks… will the cat catch the mouse? Or can mouse catch cat?
The Caretaker plays at TNC Theatre November 11-14, and 18-21. The shows will begin at 8 p.m. TNC Theatre is located in Morrice Hall at 3485 McTavish Street and is wheelchair accessible. Tickets are $6 for students/seniors and $10 for adults.

Project Aprender’s initiative is to bring equal access of English language training to all Chilean students.聽 Volunteers are partnered with Chilean English teachers as a way to motivate the students.聽 The volunteers work is essential but the volunteers also get the opportunity to receive a cross cultural experience as they live and work in Chilean communities.
How the program works:
-The program last 3 months from May to August.
-Volunteers live with a host family
-Volunteers receive a stipend every month to cover basic expenses

CKUT is hosting the second Magic Sound Box. Modeled after a concept developed in Kingston at CFRC radio station, it proposes a full auditory exploration of the magic of radio.
This live radio transmission art show (or tell…) takes the audience inside Radioland – inside the magic sound box – highlighting the many talents of CKUT, exploring the limits of aural imagination and indulging in the intimacy of sound.
Amateur and veteran sound-makers will transform the 19th century Anglican Church. The plan: create an enclosed area with large swaths of fabric, turn off the lights…and make radio. The audience is inside the box, the performers are on the outside. Some of the sounds will be mixed through a quadrophonic speaker system and some will use the natural acoustics of the space, inviting our listeners to enjoy the spatial qualities of voices, instruments, field recordings and electronics.
The evening will include musical soundscapes, short stories, exploratory sonic installations and poetry, creating a series of sound art that will rest your eyes and tickle your ears.
The performance will also broadcast over the airwaves of CKUT 90.3FM (or www.ckut.ca), reaching the ears of unsuspecting audience members in their cars, bedrooms, living rooms and bathtubs.
We hope you’ll be there, ears perked and mind open.

Bienvenue 脿 l鈥檌nt茅rieur du monde bizarre et rempli de pacotille du dramaturge laur茅at d鈥檜n Prix Nobel dans cette 芦聽com茅die de menace聽禄. The Caretaker est une tragicom茅die qui suit les p茅rip茅ties de trois hommes (r么les jou茅s par des femmes) au long de trois semaines. La com茅die s鈥檡 faufile lorsqu鈥橝ston accueille Davies, le sans-abri, dans un acte de gentillesse. Un jeu de chat-et-souris s鈥檈n suit lorsque Davies est coinc茅 entre la charit茅 nonchalante d鈥橝ston et les tendances psychopathes de Mick. Dans The Caretaker, Pinter demande鈥 le chat attrapera-t-il la souris? Ou la souris pourra-t-elle attraper le chat?

Les b茅n茅voles sont mis en partenariat avec des enseignants chiliens comme fa莽on de motiver les 茅tudiants. Le travail des b茅n茅voles est essentiel mais ils ont aussi l鈥檕pportunit茅 d鈥檃cqu茅rir une exp茅rience interculturelle en vivant et travaillant dans les communaut茅s chiliennes.
Comment le programme fonctionne:
– Le programme dure 3 mois, du 8 mai au 5 ao没t.
– Les b茅n茅voles vivront dans une famille d鈥檃ccueil.
– Les b茅n茅voles recevront un montant chaque mois pour subvenir 脿 leurs besoins fondamentaux.

Au cours des 20 derni猫res ann茅es, P[h]assion a r茅ussit 脿 unir un amour pour la mode avec une passion pour l鈥檋umanit茅, levant plus de 150,00$ pour soutenir un certain nombre de fondations pour le SIDA. Cette ann茅e nous nous sommes mis en partenariat avec l鈥橝CCM 鈥 SIDA B茅n茅voles Montr茅al.
Jeudi le 19 novembre; nous d茅marrons l鈥檃nn茅e 2010 avec une audition de mannequins 脿 th猫尘别 芦聽Miami Vice聽禄 et un Party Hype!

La consommation d鈥檋茅ro茂ne et d鈥檃utres drogues est un moyen d鈥櫭ヽhapper aux r茅alit茅s difficiles de leurs vies. Essentiellement, c鈥檈st une pi猫ce qui concerne moins la d茅pendance que le combat pour l鈥檃miti茅 et le choix entre une autodestruction compl猫te et la vie.

Nous avons aussi d鈥檈xcellentes p芒tisseries (pr茅par茅es avec des produits du commerce 茅quitable ou organique si possible) et du chocolat du commerce 茅quitable. C鈥檈st aussi un bon moyen d鈥檈n apprendre plus sur l鈥橧SF et le commerce 茅quitable alors venez faire un tour!

CKUT organise la deuxi猫尘别 bo卯te de musique magique. Inspir茅e d鈥檜n concept d茅velopp茅 脿 Kingston, 脿 la station radio CFRC, la bo卯te de musique magique propose une exploration auditoire compl猫te de la magie de la radio.
Cette transmission radio live d鈥檜n spectacle artistique (ou narratif…) m猫ne le public 脿 l鈥檌nt茅rieur du monde de la radio 鈥 脿 l鈥檌nt茅rieur de la bo卯te de musique magique 鈥 soulignant les nombreux talents de CKUT, explorant les limites de l鈥檌magination oral et se livrant 脿 l鈥檌ntimit茅 du son.
Des producteurs de son, amateurs et v茅t茅rans, transformeront cette 茅glise anglicane du 19猫尘别 si猫cle. Le plan聽: cr茅er une aire close avec de gros lambeaux de tissus, 茅teindre les lumi猫res… et faire de la radio. Le public est 脿 l鈥檌nt茅rieur de la bo卯te, les artistes sont 脿 l鈥檈xt茅rieur. Certains des sons seront mix茅s 脿 travers un syst猫尘别 de haut-parleurs quadriphoniques et certains utiliseront les acoustiques naturelles de la place, invitant notre public 脿 profiter de la qualit茅 spatiale des voix, des instruments, et des enregistrements et 茅lectroniques du champ sonore.
La soir茅e inclura des escapades musicales, de courtes histoires, des installations soniques exploratoires et de la po茅sie, cr茅ant une s茅rie de sons qui laisseront reposer vos yeux tandis qu鈥檌ls engageront vos oreilles.
Cette performance sera aussi diffus茅es sur les ondes de CKUT 90.3FM (ou ), atteignant les oreilles d鈥檜n public non-expectant dans leur voitures, chambres, salons, et baignoires.
Nous esp茅rons que vous viendrez, les oreilles 茅veill茅es et l鈥檈sprit ouvert.
